One of the consistent claims that have been peddled over the two weeks is that Hamas is funded by Iran. This ignores numerous claims by numerous Middle East authorities that Hamas is funded and supported by the West. It is important to expose this myth if we are to stop the war on terror. We now know for example that Al-Qaeda was backed and supported by the USA and indeed now runs Syria with the backing of the Deep State. If the West backed Al-Qaeda, how many other terrorist organisations are they backing? In the attached video the Qatari Prime Minister claims the U.S. asked Qatar to allow Hamas to have an Office in Qatar. “When Paul Keating saw the front page headline CBA scales $300b peak, he couldn’t help himself. The bank had just become the first ASX-listed company to break through that level of market capitalisation and Keating wanted to claim his part in the story. He called up The Australian Financial Review to summon two banking writers to his Sydney office for a history lesson. The former prime minister has been reflecting on the dramatic years for banking policymaking that he presided over as treasurer in the Hawke government and the role he played in creating the CBA we know today – the most valuable Australian company ever. “The bank was flying on one wing when I became treasurer,” Keating says. “I regard building CBA as a major achievement.” When Keating became treasurer in 1983, the Commonwealth Bank was government-owned and stodgy. Within months of his exit as prime minister in 1996, the third and final tranche of CBA shares were sold to investors. Over 13 years, Keating used the CBA float to push through a wave of other privatisations and micro-economic reforms that transformed the Australian economy. The idea it was a stodgy bank is completely false. As you can see from the attachment the Commonwealth Bank returned a double digit Return on Equity (ROE) every year throughout the 1980’s bar one due to the Stock Market Crash of 1987. This is slightly better or comparable to the ROE of the bank during the last decade and much higher than many ASX stocks. The CBA was sold over three tranches in the 1990’s for $8 billion. Today it makes that much profit in less than a year. Like all privatisation asset sales, Australians were ripped off. While there is no doubt CBA has done well with its technology platform, its competitive advantage comes from the fact that it has the largest retail deposits of all the banks. This gives it access to very cheap funding. The reason for having such a large source of retail capital is that the bank used to be government owned and school children were encouraged to bank with the government bank. In other words, CBA is succeeding because it was once government owned. The other point to mention is that the Federal government helped fund the purchase of the Victorian State Bank which gave the CBA access to an enormous amount of cheap deposits. The VSB collapsed because Keating lifted capital controls. The Victorian State Bank which was a savings bank was then allowed to buy an investment bank which takes on much riskier investments than just savings. Due to the '87 stock market crash, the investment bank owned by VSB, the assets of Tricontinental collapsed leaving the bank owing massive debts. Thousands of Victorians lost their savings due to Keating's stupidity. If Australia is to get its finances back on track, the Federal Government must re-establish a Public Saving bank, an Infrastructure Bank along with a National Insurance Office. The Liberal party backed the person who ridiculed and defamed a fellow party member for standing up for women. Why won’t the Liberal party stand up for its values. 3. Why is the Liberal party using members money to defend a politician who is clearly in the wrong legally and doesn’t uphold party values? The answer of course is that the Liberal party is not an organisation that listens to its grassroots members but a closed shop of establishment types who are only interested in power rather than serving the people. If that’s the case why all the fuss about CO2. It only takes a quick google search to debunk this AAP expert. Despite quoting a number of experts none of them can address the key point of the argument. Which is how does CO2 which is 1% of the atmosphere, transfer enough energy to N2 and O2 which is 99% of the atmosphere, to heat it by 1 degree. Temperature is a measure of mean molecular momentum. I.e. in order to lift the temperature of the atmosphere the momentum/velocity of ALL the molecules have to increase, not just CO2. And if conduction isn’t what heats the atmosphere then how then does N2 and O2 absorb energy. As the article from Google search says - N2 and O2 heat up via conduction not radiation. This factcheck is just another example of how the media and science grifters keep lying to you about the role CO2 plays in the atmosphere. While it’s true CO2 does absorb infrared radiation, the small increase of CO2 molecules is nowhere near enough to lift the temperature of the entire atmosphere by over 1 degree. There are also a number of other errors or misdirections that I won’t go into except for the CO2 acts like a blanket line. This is false. CO2 is a gas not a solid. Solids can stop convection - gases can’t. Therefore as the atmosphere heats it expands. By expanding or rising higher the gases cool therefore offsetting any impacts of radiation. However, the trade-off would be imposing an unacceptably high compliance and regulatory burden on the large super funds which manage the super accounts of millions of Australians with smaller benefits, and who would not be affected by the tax change.” •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• So let’s get this straight - it’s not okay to impose an unacceptably high compliance and regulatory burden on large super funds but it’s okay to: 1) Impose a high cost on the workers who pay circa $40 billion a year in fees to have their wages stolen by these large super funds. 2) Impose a high cost on businesses who have to recruit more payroll staff to manage superannuation payments and regulation and 3) Impose a high regulatory burden on anyone who wants to withdraw money of their deceased relatives or some other hardship. The hypocrisy is breathtaking. Don’t get me wrong - there are too many tax concessions in super as the graph shows, but taxing unrealised gains is not the way to solve the problem. The solution should be to just allow a certain amount of realised income to be tax free before reverting to marginal rates.
