  • Happy 23rd Sacerdotal Anniversary, Fr. Aloysius Ong! 🎉🙏 Today, June 29, we celebrate a very special milestone. On this Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, Fr. Aloysius marks 23 years of priesthood, having been ordained right here in our Church of St. Bernadette back in 2003. We pray fervently that the Lord grants him the strength and grace to continue leading us as our shepherd. May we, his flock, always step up to support and work with him as part of One Body. ✨ How you can celebrate with him today and this week: Say hello: Offer him your blessings and well-wishes when you see him around the parish! Encourage him: Share a kind word of appreciation for his ministry. Pray: Keep him in your daily prayers. Thank you, Father Aloysius, for your dedication and shepherd's heart!

  • Her first mission was to the neighbouring country Malaysia specifically to St. Francis Convent in Petaling Jaya, where she remained there for 8 years. Whilst there, Sr. Mary was involved with the Young Christian Students Movement and catechetics. In September 1969, Sr. Mary undertook the Montessori training in London where she was equipped with the tools of a preschool educator. A year later, Sr. Mary was sent to France for language study. Sr Mary Chua was a parishioner of St Bernadette's for many years, and participated fully in the life of the Parish. Amongst them, she was a long time choir member of the St Cecilia (Chinese) Choir. She stayed with her community at Bukit Ho Swee and ministered to many in the area. Her body is resting at Maris Stella Convent, 49D Holland Road and her funeral Mass will be at the chapel next to the convent on Monday, 15th June at 2.30pm. Eternal rest grant unto Sr Mary O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May Sr Mary rest in peace. Amen.

  • Join Us for an Inspiring Talk: Discover the Flame of Love! What is the Flame of Love Movement? The Flame of Love is a powerful "Movement of Grace" within the Catholic Church, originating from the spiritual diary of Elizabeth Kindelmann, a widowed mother of six and Secular Carmelite from Hungary. At its heart, the Flame of Love is not just a devotion—it is Jesus Himself. Passed through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, this exceptional grace is a gift from the Eternal Father designed to deepen our intimacy with Christ, renew our families, and provide a spiritual shield for the troubled times we live in. Come and listen to this talk on Friday, 12 June, 8pm-9pm at the Church Canteen.

Congratulations to all 40 candidates who received the Sacrament of Confirmation. As you are sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, may you continue to grow in faith, courage, and love, becoming ever more faithful disciples of Christ. The celebration did not end with the Mass. Over a shared meal, conversations, laughter, and photos, we were reminded that the Church is more than a place we gather, it is a family to which we belong. As St Paul teaches, “We, though many, are one body in Christ.” Each person is uniquely gifted, yet we are united as one community, journeying together in faith. To our newly confirmed brothers and sisters, remember that you do not walk this path alone. Lean on one another, stay connected to the parish community, and continue to allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in the years ahead. Thank you to Archbishop William for celebrating this special occasion with us, and to all who helped make the day a joyful one. 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦, 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵. • Pray, Belong and Serve

  • Dear friends, the Eucharist is the heart of our parish life. It is where Christ gathers us, forms us, and sends us. May this celebration of Corpus Christi renew our love for the Blessed Sacrament and awaken within us a deeper desire to become what we receive - the living Body of Christ in the world. May we continue to grow as a parish that prays together, belongs together, and serves together. And may all who encounter our community experience the welcoming, healing, and transforming love of Jesus Christ. With gratitude for each of you and with every blessing, Fr Aloysius Ong Parish Priest Church of St Bernadette

  • Yet the mystery of the Eucharist does not end when Mass concludes. Each time we receive the Body of Christ, we are invited to become more deeply rooted into the Body of Christ. We are transformed by the One we receive and sent forth to reflect His love in our homes, workplaces, schools, and community. The Eucharist is both gift and mission, bringing hope where there is discouragement, compassion where there is hurt, and love where there is loneliness. This year, our parish theme, “Many Parts, One Body,” finds its deepest meaning in the Eucharist. Around the altar, we come from different walks of life, carrying different stories, gifts, and experiences. Yet Christ gathers us into one communion. What unites us is greater than what distinguishes us. In Him, we become one family of faith, bound together not by our own efforts but by His love. The Eucharist teaches us that every member of the parish matters. Every person has a unique place in the life of our community. No gift is too small. No act of service is insignificant. No one is forgotten in the eyes of God. As we celebrate Corpus Christi, I would like to invite each parishioner to take a simple but intentional step in living out our parish vision of Pray | Belong | Serve. Pray. Allow the Eucharist to draw you into a deeper friendship with Jesus. Participate at Mass with renewed attentiveness and gratitude. Spend time before the Blessed Sacrament in quiet adoration. Seek the healing mercy of God through regular Reconciliation. In prayer, we learn to recognise Christ's presence and listen to His voice. Belong. The Eucharist gathers us into communion, not only with Christ but also with one another. Consider taking a step towards deeper participation in parish life. Join a ministry, a small faith-sharing group, or a parish activity. Reach out to someone new. Offer a word of welcome. Let us continue building a parish where every person feels seen, valued, and at home. Serve. The gifts God has placed within you are meant to be shared. Whether through acts of kindness, ministry, outreach, hospitality, or quiet service behind the scenes, every gift can become an expression of Christ's love. As we receive the Lord who gives Himself completely, may we also learn to give ourselves generously for the good of others.

  • Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, our hearts are drawn once again to the greatest gift our Lord has given us: Himself. At every Mass, we gather around the altar to encounter Jesus truly present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Eucharist. Under the humble signs of bread and wine, Christ gives Himself completely to us. He nourishes us with His love, strengthens us with His grace, and reminds us that we are never alone. The Eucharist is not merely something we receive; it is Someone we receive. It is Jesus, who offers His Body broken and His Blood poured out for the life of the world.

  • Let us help someone encounter Christ through our action, our prayers, through our words.

  • St Bernadette reminds us that we just need to respond with faith, our sincere heart and to say yes.

  • CONFIRMATION MASS & CORPUS CHRISTI CELEBRATION This coming weekend will be a busy one for our parish. On Saturday at the 6:00 pm Mass, Cardinal William Goh will join us to confer the Sacrament of Confirmation on over 40 youths and KKIS members. Let us pray for these confirmands as they prepare their hearts to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. On Sunday, we will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, featuring a Eucharistic procession during the 5:30 pm Mass. Please note that the parish car park will be closed for the procession immediately following the 11:45 am Mass.

  • We all play a part in the Body of Christ. We can create an encounter with God, through what we do.
