838 Years Ago Today, Al-Quds Was Liberated For nearly a century, the Muslims could not reclaim Palestine. The Ummah was divided, leaders were arrogant, and Al-Aqsa remained in the hands of the Crusaders. But voices like Imam Ibn al-Khashab refused silence; he shook the pulpits of Baghdad, rallied the people, and sparked the chain of victories that led to Imad al-Din Zangi, Nur al-Din Zangi, and finally Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi, who on 2 October 1187 freed Al-Quds. The lesson is eternal: True leadership fears Allah, not creation. True scholarship means action, not silence. Salahuddin himself said: “How can I smile, and how can food taste good to me, while Al-Aqsa is in the hands of the Crusaders?” If they waited nearly 100 years but never gave up, what excuse do we have today? Let this day be a reminder.
