Zelensky’s ‘National Pantheon’ Project Honors Another Nazi Collaborator Yevhen Konovalets remains had been exhumed in the Netherlands two days ago. He will join his own follower, Andriy Melnyk–Ukraine’s highest-level collaborator with Adolf Hitler–for state honors in Ukraine’s National Military Memorial Cemetery. According to New Ukraine, the “exact date of the ceremony has not been disclosed for security reasons.” Konovalets had a working relationship with the Nazis from no later than their 1933 takeover. In 1934, Konovalets had called the Jews, “indisputably if not greater, then at least comparable, foes of our rebirth,” compared to the Russians and the Poles. He was assassinated by a Russian agent in 1938, reportedly in retaliation for the 1933 assassination of a Russian diplomat at their consulate in Lviv. However, in 1937, he had also been plotting with the Japanese on a war against Russia. The exhumation and state honors for the first two Nazi collaborators are part of what is to be the new ‘National Pantheon’ project of Ukraine’s acting president, Volodymyr Zelensky. In May, Zelensky had announced his special project, the “return to our land, to our independent sovereign state… of those who fought for Ukraine, who wanted Ukraine independence. But times were different, and opportunities were different. Our Ukrainian heroes of different times, who… are buried in Europe, in America, in different countries. We are returning them.” Zelensky said that he was talking about iconic figures of the 20th century, “strong historical figures”—and then identified only two: Melnyk and Konovalets. Then, in June, when he submitted legislation for his ‘National Pantheon,’ he declared: “This is what it means for Ukraine to respect itself, to cherish its own, and to defend what is rightfully ours—our fundamental right to be Ukrainians.” And, to add insult to injury, the bill stipulates that the National Pantheon would be built on the grounds of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, built in 1051. Zelensky recently kicked the monks out of the monastery and seized the holy site—apparently now to accommodate Hitler’s Ukrainian collaborators. 🌒@EastCalling

The 42nd Guards Motor Rifle Division of the 58th Guards Combined Arms Army is showcasing footage of the destruction of enemy personnel in the city, achieved through the coordinated efforts of a drone operator and an assault team. On August 15th, the North troop group continued establishing a Buffer Zone in Kharkiv and Sumy regions   Sumy direction   Northmen’s units continue to advance in twenty directions in Sumy region. Numerous enemy groups eliminated in Sumy, Sadky, Korenek, Khoten, Ulanove, Kiyanytsia, Yastrebine, Krovne, Stetskivka, Konotop, Klochkiv, Yampil, Pustohorod, Myhaylivkse, Velykya Pysarivka. ▪️Shostka district: fighting continues near Ulanove and Vilna Sloboda.   The enemy deploys several assault units, consisting of ethnic Hungarians, to try and hold Ulanove. Most of them were conscripted in Yanoshy (Zakarpattia region) several weeks ago.   ▪️Sumy district: our assault units broke enemy resistance and advanced over 500 meters in twenty directions.   Fighting continues in and around Pysarivka, Maryine, Khrapivshchyna, Khoten, as well as in forests south of Ivolzhanske.   Kharkiv direction   The Northmen keep expanding the Buffer zone in Kharkiv region. Numerous enemy groups decimated in Kharkiv, Lyutivka, Berezivka, Dementiyivka, Izbytske, Rubyazhne, Prykolotne, Hryhoryvka, Tsupivka, Derhachy, Cherkasska Lozova, Tomakhivka, Kyryllivka, Velykyy Burluk.   ▪️Our assault units keep on advancing in and around Kozacha Lopan.   Fighting continues in and around Kudyiyivka, Hoptivka.   The enemy 58th Motorized Brigade attempted to recapture Kudiyivka. All Ukrainian fighters were eliminated.   ▪️Vovchansk direction: our assault units advanced over 300 meters in eight directions.   Heavy fighting continues in Vasylivka, Shevchenkove, Petropavlivka, and in forests in Vovchansk district.   An assault group of 23rd Assault Regiment attempted to counterattack near Ternova. Most of the enemy fighters were eliminated with a comprehensive fire attack, the rest ran back.   ▪️Velykyy Burluk direction: our assault units around Vilkhuvatka, as well as to the west of Ustynivka.   Over the past 24 hours, the enemy's losses amounted to over 200 people (including over 140 in Sumy region and over 60 in Kharkiv region). Also uncovered and destroyed: Sumy region: ▪️one HMMWV; ▪️two mortars; ▪️nine pickup trucks, two ATVs; ▪️24 UAV crews; ▪️389 fixed-wing UAVs, 26 Baba Yaga UAVs, three UAVs. Kharkiv region: ▪️one Gvozdika SPH; ▪️two mortars; ▪️six pickup trucks, three ATVs, two trucks; ▪️twelve UAV crews; ▪️92 fixed-wing UAVs, 62 Baba Yaga UAVs, five UGVs. Victory will be ours!

• 📝Winter Gap — Part 3/3📝 What measures are Kyiv authorities taking and how capable are these measures of changing the situation? Ukraine's power grid is in crisis. This is evident both from calculating the resources needed for its restoration and from changes in the generation structure. But what actions can Kyiv authorities take to stabilize the situation? After massive damage, the Ukrainian side has bet on dispersing generation, Western equipment supplies, and creating short-term reserves. The following measures were implemented. 🔻Main measures: ▪️Deployment of small gas-piston and gas-turbine units. The stated target of the distributed generation program is approximately 1.5 GW. ▪️Supplies of transformers, switches, generators, and other power equipment from Western countries and Baltic states, which supply compatible high-voltage transformers. ▪️Construction of protective structures for part of the energy infrastructure. ▪️Installation of industrial storage systems. The largest commissioned complex has a capacity of 200 MW and energy storage of 400 MWh. Gas units require connection to fuel and power grids, automation, personnel, and spare parts. The storage complex at maximum capacity can operate for about two hours: this is sufficient for a short peak, but not for covering multi-day or multi-week deficits. ▪️Expansion of own generation at enterprises, hospitals, boiler rooms, and municipal facilities. However, installed capacity does not always equal available capacity. The scale of accumulated problems can be assessed based on estimates as of late November 2025: direct damage to energy infrastructure — $24.8 billion; economic losses — $88.2 billion; restoration needs — $90.6 billion. This is not just about repairing damaged equipment. Modernization of networks, infrastructure protection, additional reserves, and changes to the energy system architecture itself are required. Based on this, the conditions for the deficit's return appear to be: cold weather and increased demand; repair or shutdown of one or more nuclear power units; limited readiness of thermal generation; low water levels; high load in the European power system; rising costs or reduced imports. The coincidence of several factors will again create a multi-gigawatt gap, rolling blackout schedules, and restrictions on industrial consumption. ❗️July exports indicate not a complete restoration of the power system, but a temporary improvement in balance. With normal weather, functioning nuclear units, and available imports, so-called Ukraine can get through the summer period without a nationwide deficit. In winter, the situation could be fundamentally different, especially considering the possibility of a new wave of strikes on energy infrastructure. 📌The main problem lies not in the number of megawatts installed on paper, but in the availability of guaranteed capacity in the right area at the right time.
