Do You Have Ghayraa for Your Deen? - Part 2

  • A brother currently going through some trials (may Allaah ease his affairs) recently said to me something that sometimes yes - we understand the concept of, but when you are in the midst of the calamity SubhanAllaah you have a new understanding and connection to it, he said: “We always turn back to Allaah first, no one can do anything for you. The lawyer can’t do nothing, the police man can do nothing your parents can do nothing, the prime minister can do nothing! You call on Allaah, only Allaah can do everything, only Allaah is in control.“

  • The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said: "When the Imam says: غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ 'Ghair-il-Maghdubi `alaihim Walad-Dallin (i.e. not the path of those who earn Your Anger, nor the path of those who went astray) Then you must say, 'Ameen', for if one's utterance of 'Ameen' coincides with that of the angels, then his past sins will be forgiven." Sahīh al-Bukhārī

  • THERE IS NO HALF GANGSTER HALF MUSLIM, FEAR ALLAAH. Do you not fear a day when you will stand before Allaah ta’aala?! Itaqillaah my brothers. This life is short. Abandon those who guide you away from ALLAAH, make baraa from them, and stand firmly for the sake of Allaah. A filthy ideology that has plagued too many Muslims. Following the path of the non-believers. Just imagine if the Sahabah may Allaah be pleased with them saw our state today, allaahu musta’ān. May Allaah rectify our affairs and forgive us for our shortcomings. Turn to Allaah before you RETURN to him.

  • Ibn Rajab رحمه الله stated: And Wakīʿ narrated in his book from ʿImārah ibn Zādhān, from Yaḥyā al-Bakkāʾ, that a man, who was among the muʾadhdhin of the Kaʿbah, said to Ibn ʿUmar during ṭawāf: “Indeed I love you for Allāh’s sake.” He (Ibn ʿUmar) said: “And indeed I hate you for Allāh’s sake, because you beautify your voice for the sake of dirhams (money).” Fatḥ al-Bārī 3/364.

  • [1] Saḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī 5373 [2] ibid, Al-Sufyān said: Al-'Ānī is Al-Asīr (the captive). [3] There are a number of aḥādīth to this effect, see Ḥadīth of Abū Hurairah (Saḥīḥ Muslim 2699) Ḥadīth of ibn 'Umar (Saḥīḥ Al-Bukhārī 2442) and others.

  • Hence his sayin: “for ˹freeing˺ slaves (Al-Riqāb)” — in it includes: helping Al-Mukātibīn (slaves who have an agreement with their master to be freed with certain amount of wealth in a set period of time), emancipation of slaves and freeing captives. It is not permissible for the abled Muslims to be negligent in freeing captives, each person (should aid) according to his ability. By way of his self, his money, his social position, his supplications, and incitement of others, by his tongue and his pen. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: (Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives (Al-'Ānī)). Narrated by Al-Bukhārī from the ḥadīth⁽¹⁾ of Abū Mūsā. And (Al-'Ānī) is the captive⁽²⁾, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered his release; because him remaining among the disbelievers, exposes him to fitnah (tribulation). And leaving him bound in confinement, to wrestle with worries and sorrows is betrayal to him. He had been in jihād in the cause of Allah, fighting the enemy, aiding Islam and protecting Muslims, their homes and their honor. Hence upon them is an obligation to setting him free and rescuing him is incumbent. He is one of the most deserving of people to be helped and aided, and Allah has commanded the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to support the oppressed. And if freedom wasn't gained through fidyah (ransom) or wealth or other than that, it is incumbent to struggle for his release and support, in anyway possible. For Islam is a religion of victory, and the believers are brothers, and a Muslim does not fail his Muslim brother, and Allah helps the servant as long as the servant helps his brother. Hence whoever supports a Muslim, Allah supports him. And whosoever protects him Allah protects him. Whoever aids him, Allah aids him. Whoever defends (hardship) from him, Allah defends him with his earth. Whoever deserts him, Allah deserts him. And the recompense is based on the type of action (you do).⁽³⁾ ❞ — 'Abdul Malik al-'Alwān from his father, Al-Shaykh Al-Muḥaddith Sulaymān bin Nāṣir al-'Alwān

  • The Obligation To Free Muslim Captives — al-'Alwān My father (al-'Alwān) was asked while we were in Jeddah: Is zakāt to be paid to free the captives? He replied: ❝ Freeing Muslim prisoners from the hands of the disbelievers and apostates, is one of the greatest obligations, and when Muslims are unable to free their prisoners by peace or force and money is required to free them, then verily, giving zakāt in this cause is one of the greatest acts of worship. Allah ta'ālā said: {إِنَّمَا ٱلصَّدَقَٰتُ لِلۡفُقَرَآءِ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينِ وَٱلۡعَٰمِلِينَ عَلَيۡهَا وَٱلۡمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَفِى ٱلرِّقَابِ وَٱلۡغَٰرِمِينَ وَفِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبۡنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِۖ فَرِيضَةً مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۗ} [التوبة 60] “Alms-tax is only for the poor and the needy, for those employed to administer it, for those whose hearts are attracted ˹to the faith˺, for ˹freeing˺ slaves (Al-Riqāb), for those in debt, for Allah’s cause, and for ˹needy˺ travellers. ˹This is˺ an obligation from Allah.”
