  • Al-Fudayl bin Iyad رحمه الله said: “According to how insignificant the sin is in your eyes, the greater it is in the sight of Allah And the greater the sin is in your eyes, the smaller it is in the sight of Allah” [Shu’ab al-Iman 428/5]

  • Ibn Taymiyah رحمـــه الله said: “Some of the Salaf said, ‘Good actions are carried out by both the good-doer and the evil-doer, but no one is able to leave sins except the truthful one.’” [The Principle of Patience p13]

  • One of the Tabi'in stated: "Whoever's sins have become abundant, it is upon him to give people water to drink. Indeed Allah forgave the one who gave the dog water to drink. So how about one who gives water to a believer." [Tafsir al-Qurtubi 7/215]

  • Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “The Qur’an revives the heart the way water gives life to the Earth.” [Miftah Dar al-Sa'adah 1/250]

  • Abdullah ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهما said: "al-Haya (shame/shyness) and al-Iman (faith) are linked together, if one of them is taken away, the other is (also) taken away." [al-Adab al-Mufrad 1313]

  • Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "For the person who repents and becomes better after a sin, the sin is a mercy." [Al-Jawaab al-Kafi | 104]

  • Imam Ash-Shafi said: “The most difficult deeds are three; to be generous when you have little, to fear Allah when alone and to speak the truth to someone from whom you have hope for a worldly benefit or fear a punishment.” [Tarikh Dimishq, 51/411]

  • Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “No prison is tighter than the prison of passions, and no chain is harder than the chains of desires.” [al-Da' wa (p. 125)]

  • Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said: "If you become dependent on people, your value in their eyes diminishes to the extent of your dependence on them. Even if it is just a sip of water" [Majmu al-Fatawa, 39/1]

  • Abu Khallad رحمه الله said: “There is no people among whom there is someone who takes prayer lightly, and they do not restrain him from doing so, except that the first punishment to afflict them will be that their provisions will be diminished.” [Fath al-Bari by Ibn Rajab 3/144]

  • Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Indeed, dhikr of Allāh gives the one performing dhikr strength. To the point that with dhikr, he can do what he thought could not be done.” [al-Jawab al-Kafi | 1/77]

  • Imam Al-Qurtubi رحمه الله: In Jannah, the state of the believing woman is better than that of the Hur al-in, and she is higher in rank and more beautiful in appearance. [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi 16/154]

  • Uthman Ibn Hakeem (رحمه الله) said: “Befriend the one who is above you in religion and below you in worldly life.” [As-Samt by Ibn Abi Dunya, p. 45]

  • Sufyan al-Thawri رحمه اللهsaid: "Do not keep the company of someone who keeps count of the favors they have done for you." [Shu'ab al-Iman: 8882]

  • The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf on Friday will be illuminated with light (Protection & Guidance) between the two Fridays." [Sahīh al-Jāmiʿ by al-Albani]

  • Ahmad ibn Hanbal رحمه الله used to say: «اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُمْتِنَا خَيْرَ مَا عِنْدَكَ بِشَرِّ مَا عِنْدَنَا» "O Allah, do not deprive us of the good that is with You because of the evil that is with us." [Tabaqāt al-Hanābilah (1/205)]

  • Shaykh al‑Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (رحمه الله) said: “Whenever you become dependent on people, even for a drink of water, your value in their eyes decreases in proportion to your dependence on them.” [Majmuʿ al‑Fatawa, 1/39]

  • ʿIkrimah رحمه الله said: "Everyone gets happy and gets sad, but you should turn your happiness into gratitude (to Allah) and your sadness into patience (sabr)." [Ibn Kathir, Tafsir of Al-Hadid: 23]

  • Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “Whoever has wronged you and then comes to you apologising, humility requires that you accept his apology, whether it is truthful or not, and leave what is in his heart to Allah. A sign of generosity and humility is that if you notice a flaw in his apology, you neither expose it nor hold it against him.” [Madarij As-Salikin 2/338]
