Praise be to the Almighty Lord for His abundant blessings and the multitude of continued achievements realized during the 2018 E.C. budget year. Notably, in July 2026 alone, the College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture accomplished the following major and outstanding activities: 1. We joyfully and gracefully celebrated the graduation ceremony of 2018 E.C encompassing all programs, including PhD, MVSc/MSc, DVM, and BSc. 2. Our DVM students achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate in the national exit examination for the fourth consecutive year. This makes CVMA among the top-performing academic units in the university. 3. We strengthened international collaboration and partnership through visits to Northeast Agricultural University, China, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Veterinary Research Institutes). These engagements initiated new One Health projects, established laboratory partnerships, and were complemented by reciprocal visits and fruitful discussions. 4. We successfully launched the rebranding event of Working Animals International Ethiopia (formerly SPANA). In connection, field visits and collaborative meetings were held at Samara University and surroundings in the Afar Regional State. 5. We held revitalization discussions with The Donkey Sanctuary and developed a joint action plan to ensure stronger future implementation. A successful Continuous professional development training was provided for professionals along with TDS-UK. 6. We actively engaged and contributed to Addis Ababa University’s annual performance and plan evaluation discussions by presenting our 2018 Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of our College, and disclosing the 2019 budget year plan. 7. We supported the National Grade 12 Leaving Examination by serving as one of Addis Ababa University’s examination centers in Bishoftu City, while also hosting all Bishoftu City and its surroundings examiners as part of the national mission. 8. We are making steady and encouraging progresses in the current university-wide curriculum transformation and innovative learning that emphasizes integrating modern technology, including artificial intelligence, and soft skills courses to build multidisciplinary and outcome-based programs. 9. We conducted a comprehensive evaluation of our annual research performance in the presence of the AAU Research Director and its team. Together, we discussed lessons learned and charted excellent ways forward to enhance the impact of our research, alongside many other routine activities on the ground. Using this opportunity, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone whose dedication, commitment, and support made these achievements and our dream possible. My special thanks go to my colleagues and our visionary leaders for their unwavering support and guidance.
