Every enemy needs hypocrites from within to help them achieve the destruction they seek. There are two kinds of hypocrites... The political ones will essentially let the enemy into the land for personal gain. This was depicted in the Kordoglo character in Ertugrol. All those leaders on CIA payroll are in this category. This was how Andalus was lost. The second type is more murky because it ensnares sincere people who do not realize they are doing the enemy's work, as the Quran says, "among you are those who listen to them." If our unifying force is our deen, then the enemy needs it to be corrupted and neutralized, which occurs through extremism. There are always two extremes: too loose and too tight; too much and too little. Liberalization and modernist scholars cast doubt on the sources and mock religious practice and devotion. It is true that a nation needs to be purified before it can rise over its enemies. But what is the actual cancer. That's the question. In the end times, Allah sends forces like the Dajjal to excise the umma of its hypocrites. They will follow him. There will also be earthquakes in Madina that scare hypocrites into leaving it.
