Question: Is Kufr bit-Tâghût a condition from the conditions of Lâ Ilâha ill-Allâh, with proof? The answer by Shaykh ‘Alî al-Khudayr فك الله أسره: Yes, due to His تعالى statement: “And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allâh and avoid Tâghût…”[16:36] And His statement: “So whoever disbelieves in Tâghût and believes in Allâh has grasped the most trustworthy handhold…” [2:256] And due to the Hadîth of Abû Mâlik al-Ashja’î, from his father, that the Prophet ﷺ said: “He who professes Lâ Ilâha ill-Allâh, and disbelieves in whatever is worshipped besides Allâh, his wealth and blood become inviolable, [and his reckoning is with Allâh.].” [Sahîh Muslim] [Majmû’ Fatâwâ wa-Rasâ’il]

  • 🌿 The Sunnah of Speaking Good or Remaining Silent 🌿 The tongue is one of the smallest limbs, yet one of the most powerful. It can be heavy upon the scale, or it can become a cause of a person’s destruction. Many sins begin with a single word. Many hearts are broken by a single sentence. Many people will regret words they never thought twice about. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.” — Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim How many friendships have been destroyed by a careless word? How many families have been divided because of a sentence that should never have been spoken? Silence is not weakness. Often, it is wisdom. The believer weighs his words before they leave his tongue, knowing that every word is recorded. Allah says: ﴿مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ﴾ “Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).” — Surah Qāf 50:18 The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe.” — Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim Notice: The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the tongue before the hand. A wound inflicted by the hand may heal, but a word can remain embedded in a heart for years. Words can travel further, reach more people, and leave consequences long after they were spoken. The Prophet ﷺ also gave one of the greatest promises found in the Sunnah. He guaranteed Paradise for guarding two things that people often struggle to restrain: “Whoever guarantees for me what is between his two jaws (his tongue) and what is between his two legs (his private parts), I guarantee for him Paradise.” — Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī Before speaking, ask yourself: Will these words please Allah? Will they benefit someone? Would I be pleased to see them written in my book of deeds? Never underestimate a word simply because it seemed insignificant when it left your mouth. The Prophet ﷺ said: “A servant may utter a word pleasing to Allah without giving it much thought, yet Allah raises him by many degrees because of it. And a servant may utter a word displeasing to Allah without giving it much thought, yet because of it he falls into Hell.” — Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī Muʿādh ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه asked: “O Messenger of Allah! Will we really be held accountable for what we say?” The Prophet ﷺ replied: “May your mother lose you, O Muʿādh! Is there anything that topples people on their faces—or he said, on their noses—into the Fire except the harvest of their tongues?” — Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī A guarded tongue is a sign of a guarded heart. Sometimes, the most beautiful speech is the speech that was never spoken. The righteous predecessors understood this well. ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd رضي الله عنه said: “By Allah, besides Whom there is no deity worthy of worship, nothing deserves to be imprisoned longer than the tongue.” Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله beautifully wrote in al-Dāʾ wa al-Dawāʾ: “How amazing is the tongue! A small piece of flesh, yet no limb is more obedient if it is upright, and no limb is more rebellious if it goes astray.” And al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said: “The tongue of the believer is behind his heart. When he wishes to speak, he first reflects. If it is for him, he speaks; if it is against him, he remains silent. But the hypocrite’s heart is behind his tongue. He says whatever comes to his tongue.” So pause before you speak. A moment of silence may save you from years of regret. Let your tongue be occupied with the remembrance of Allah, Qurʾān, truth, kindness and words that mend hearts rather than break them. If there is goodness in your words, speak. If there is no goodness in them, then let your silence become an act of worship. The tongue is small, but its account is great. Guard it today, before you stand before Allah and every word you ever uttered is placed before you. — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth

  • There is no fortress stronger than the protection of Allah. No army can overcome it. No enemy can penetrate it. No decree reaches you except by His permission. If Allah is with you, who can stand against you? Allah says: ﴿وَإِن يَمْسَسْكَ اللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ فَلَا كَاشِفَ لَهُ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ وَإِن يُرِدْكَ بِخَيْرٍ فَلَا رَادَّ لِفَضْلِهِ﴾ “And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour.” — Surah Yūnus, verse 107 — Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله https://t.me/LightOfTheTruth

  • Ibn al-Jawzī رحمه الله: “O youth, the essence of your soul lies in seeking knowledge, and the adornment of your soul is acting upon what you learnt. Whoever does not act upon his knowledge will never recognise the value of what he possesses; he will be like a person carrying musk perfume but is unable to smell it because he has the flu.” [Seeds of Admonishment & Reform | Pg. 121]

  • Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said: When you wish to know how much you love Allah, then observe how much love of the Quran is in your heart. [Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah), ad-Daa’ wad Dawaa’, 549] Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) said: It is not a matter of you loving Allah; Rather, the matter is that Allah loves you. and Allah does not love you unless you follow His beloved (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), outwardly and inwardly (in what is apparent and what is hidden). [Madarij as-Salikeen, 3/39, Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah)]

  • Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: ‎“Indeed, dhikr of Allāh gives the one performing dhikr strength. To the point that with dhikr, he can do what he thought could not be done.” ‎[al-Jawāb al-Kāfī | 1/77]

  • Allah says in surah al-Mulk (67): [أَفَمَن يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ أَهْدَىٰ أَمَّن يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ] "Is one who walks overturned on his face better guided, or one who walks upright on a straight path?" [22] Regarding Allah's statement: [أَفَمَن يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجْهِهِ] "Is one who walks overturned on his face ..." ... Ma'mar relayed that Qatadah said: That is referring to a disbeliever who engaged in disobedience to Allah, so on the Day of Resurrection Allah will raise him back to life on his face.  Ma'mar said: The Prophet was asked, "How will they walk on their faces?" to which he replied, "The One who made them walk on their feet is certainly able to make them walk on their faces."  Regarding Allah's statement: [ يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ] "... or one who walks upright on a straight path?" ... Ma'mar relayed that Qatadah said: The believer engages in obedience to Allah, so Allah will raise him back to life in a state of obedience to Him. [Tafsir al-Tabari 23/517]

  • “Allāh does not forget the good you do, nor does He forget the good you did to others and the pain you relieved them from. Nor will He forget the eye which was about to cry but you made it laugh.” You never know how many lives Allāh سبحانه وتعالى placed you in simply to lighten the burden of your brother’s pain — to be a relief and support in only a specific trial. Don’t consider relationships that didn’t last as situations in which you were “used” or taken benefit of. Rather, see them as completed opportunities for Khayr through which you earned immense reward for your sincerity إن شاء الله.
