The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Among the happiness of the son of Adam is to be satisfied with what Allāh has decreed for him. Among the misery of the son of Adam is to abandon asking Allāh for guidance, and among the misery of the son of Adam is displeasure with what Allāh has decreed for him.”
Shaykh Al-Islām Ibn-Taymīyyah رحمه الله said: “Allāh is more merciful to His slaves than the most merciful of mothers to her child, for the One Who made her merciful must be more merciful than her.” 📚:Majmū Fatāwa ● 16/448
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah رحمه الله said: The heart was created solely for the love of Allāh Almighty. Do not scatter your heart in seeking love, security, and perfection from other than Allāh. You will not find it, and the heart will continue to be let down by people. And they are all excused, due to their own deficiency and weakness. You will continue to be disappointed and hurt until you become certain that true attachment is only befitting for Allāh ﷻ, and that the heart does not find rest, tranquility, and a sense of security except with Allāh ﷻ. So, love others for the sake of Allāh, in accordance with Allāh's will, and to please Allāh not to please yourself. And whoever pleases Allāh ﷻ, He will please them, even if after a while. 📚:Majmū' al-Fatāwa
Ibn Rajab al-Ḥanbalī رحمه الله said: “O servants of Allāh, the month of Ramadhān has now reached its midpoint. Who among you has held themselves accountable before Allāh and been just? Who among you has fulfilled their obligations in this month as they are truly meant to be fulfilled? Who among you has resolved, before the gates of Paradise close, to build lofty rooms for themselves therein—one above the other? Behold! Your month is now decreasing, so increase your deeds, for soon it will be gone. Every month may have a replacement, but as for the month of Ramadhān —how will you ever find a replacement for it?" لطائف المعارف ص ٣٣٨:📚
Important reminder with Ramadān around the corner: Saying Amīn during the Qunoot? 🎙:
Aws ibn Aws reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Verily, the best of your days is Friday. Ādam was created on it, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made. Thus, send blessings upon me often, for your blessings are presented to me.” 📚: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1047
“When Friday arrives, angels are over the door of every mosque to record those who arrive one by one. When the Imam sits to begin, they close their scrolls and come to listen to the reminder. The parable of one who comes early is that of one who offers a fine camel, the next like one who offers a cow, the next like one who offers a ram, the next like one who offers a chicken, the next like one who offers an egg.” 📚: Sahih al-Bukhari 887, Sahih Muslim 850 (mutafaqqun alayhi)
Jumu'ah: Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "Friday is the day of worship, its comparison to other days like the comparison of the month of Ramadan to other months and the hour in it is like the Night of Decree in Ramadan." 📚:Zaad Al-Ma’aad 1398 عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ 5996 السنن الكبرى للبيهقي كتاب الجمعة ومن جماع أبواب الهيئة للجمعة باب ما يؤمر به في ليلة الجمعة Abu Sa’id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه reported the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever recites Surat al-Kahf on Friday, a light will shine for him between this Friday and the next.” 📚: al-Sunan al-Kubra lil-Bayhaqi 5996 عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْثِرُوا الصَّلَاةَ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلَيْلَةَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَمَنْ صَلَّى عَلَىَّ صَلَاةً صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ عَشْرًا 5854 السنن الكبرى كتاب الجمعة ومن جماع أبواب الهيئة للجمعة باب ما يؤمر به في ليلة الجمعة ويومها Anas رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Increase your supplications for me on the day and night of Friday. Whoever blesses me once, Allah will bless him ten times.” 📚: al-Sunan al-Kubra 5854 Narrated by Jaabir ibn ‘Abdillah رضي الله عنه who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The day of Friday has twelve hours, in which there is no Muslim slave who asks Allah for anything but He will grant it to him, so seek it in the last hour after ‘Asr.” 📚:Reported by Abu Dawood (1048) and an-Nasaa’i (1389); classed as saheeh by an-Nawawi in al-Majmoo‘, 4/471 The Prophet ﷺ said: "There is such an hour on Friday, that if any Muslim makes Du’ā during it, his Du’ā will be accepted." 📚:صحيح البخاري ٥٢٩٥، صحيح مسلم ٨٥٢ Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: “A time when Du’ās will be accepted is during the last hour of ‘Asr on Jumu’ah.” Narrated Salman Al-Farsi: Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) said, “Anyone who takes a bath on Friday and cleans himself as much as he can and puts oil (on his hair) or scents himself; and then proceeds for the prayer and does not force his way between two persons (assembled in the mosque for the Friday prayer), and prays as much as is written for him and remains quiet when the Imam delivers the Khutba, all his sins in between the present and the last Friday will be forgiven.” 📚:Sahih Bukhari ● Volume 2 book 13 number 33 Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: "The Friday prayer is from the greatest of congregations of the Muslims." Aws ibn Aws reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever performs a thorough ritual bath on Friday, proceeds at the earliest to the mosque, sits below the Imam and listens carefully without talking, he will have a reward for each step he took a year’s worth of fasting and praying.” Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali رحمه الله said: "Know that in the month of Ramadhān there are two Jihads of the self that take place for the believer: - Jihad of the daytime with fasting. - Jihad of the night time with standing for prayer. So whoever gathers between these two Jihads, fulfills their rights (and) is patient with them then he is given his reward without limit." 📚:Latāif Al-Ma'arif
Ramadhān Mubarak May Allāh accept our good deeds and allow us to make the most of this blessed month
Sulayman ibn Musa reported: Jabir, may Allāh be pleased with him, said: “When you fast, then let your hearing, seeing, and tongue fast as well from falsehood and sins, and avoid harming your servants. Rather, you must have dignity and calmness on the day of your fasting. Do not make days you do not fast and days you fast as if they were the same.” 📚: Muṣannaf Ibn Abī Shaybah
Abu Huraira May Allāh be pleased with him reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “No people sit in a gathering in which they did not remember Allāh, nor send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ but that it will cause them grief on the Day of Resurrection, even if they are rewarded with entry into Paradise” 📚: Musnad Ahmad 9965 | مسند أحمد ٩٩٦٥ Grade: Authentic | حكم: صحيح
An emptiness that can only be filled by the remembrance of Allāh: Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله “Even if he were given the world and whatever is in it, he would never be able to fill the emptiness in his heart.”
Fasting In Sha’ban: Usāmah ibn Zayd reported: I said: “O Messenger of Allāh, I do not see you fasting any month as much as you fast during Sha’bān.” The Prophet ﷺ, said: “It is a month people neglect between Rajab and Ramadhān. It is a month in which the deeds are raised to the Lord of the worlds, and I like for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.” 📚: Sunan al-Nasā’ī 2357 Aisha رضي الله عنها reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ would fast until we said he will never break his fast, and he would not fast until we said he would never fast. I did not see the Prophet complete an entire month of fasting except for Ramadhān, and I did not see him complete more voluntary fasts than in the month of Sha’bān. 📚: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1969, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1156 Aisha رضي الله عنها reported: The most beloved month to the Messenger of Allāh, ﷺ for fasting was Sha’ban, then he would connect it with Ramadhān.” 📚: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 2431 Best time to make up missed days of last Ramadhān: Aisha رضي الله عنها said, “I had to make up some fasts I missed during the month of Ramadhān, but I was unable to do so until the month of Sha’ban as I was busy with the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.” 📚: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 1950 Shaykh Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ al-'Uthaymīn رحمه الله said: "As for Sha'bān, then yes it is unique since the Prophet ﷺ would increase his fasting. Rather, he would fast most of this month. So it is befitting to increase fasting in Sha'bān.” لقاء الباالمفتوح ١٧٤:📚 Fasting in Sha’bān will prepare for you Ramadhān: Imām Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said, “It was said about fasting Shab'ān that his fasting is like training for fasting in Ramadhān so that he does not enter into fasting Ramadhān with difficulty and cost. Rather, he has practiced fasting and become accustomed to it, and he found in fasting Sha'bān before him the sweetness and pleasure of fasting, so he enters into fasting Ramadhān with strength and energy." Imām Ibn Rajab رحمه الله said, “Fasting in Sha'bān is better than fasting in the Sacred Months, and the best of voluntary fasts are those that are (observed in the months) closest to Ramadhān, before or after. The status of these fasts is like that of al-Sunan al-Rawatib which are done before and after Fardh (obligatory prayers) and which make up for any shortfall in the number of obligatory prayers. The same applies to fasts observed before and after Ramadhān. Just as al-Sunan ar-Rawatib are better than other kinds of voluntary prayers, so fasts observed (in the months) before and after Ramadhān are better than fasts at other times.” Take advantage of this blessed month we are in and increase your worship and busy yourself the remembrance of Allāh, Qur'ān recitation, istighfar, salawat upon the prophet ﷺ, plenty of Du’a, praying on time and tahajjud. This إن شاء الله will prepare you for Ramadhān.
'Abdullah lbn Mas'ūd رضي الله عنه said: "The leader of all days is Friday and the leader of all months is Ramaḍān." 📚: lbn Abī Shaybah in al-Muṣannaf 5552
Imam ibn al Jawzi رحمه الله said: “The one who has a Mus-ḥaf must recite it everyday of whatever is easy for him lest he be from those who've forsaken Qur’ān." 📚:الآداب الشرعية
Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) said in Ahkām Ahl Adh-Dhimah (441): "As for congratulating them on the rituals that are associated with Kufr, then it is unanimously Ḥarām, such as congratulating them on their holidays and practices, and saying: 'Eid Mubarak to you' or expressing joy for the celebration and the like. That is, if the one saying this is free from disbelief, then it is from the prohibited acts. And it is similar to if he congratulates them on their prostration to the cross, for indeed; it is a greater sin in the eyes of Allāh and more detestable than in congratulating the drinking of alcohol, committing murder, engaging in illicit sexual relations and the like."
Ibn Abbās رضي الله عنه said: “Two moderate cycles of prayer in contemplation are better than praying the whole night with a neglectful heart.” 📚: al-Zuhd wal-Raqā’iq
