مدتی که در مدرسه بودیم، کانتورک آن‌قدر به گوشمان خواند تا بالاخره همهٔ شاگردان داوطلب شدند و خود را به فرماندهی منطقه معرفی کردند. چهرهٔ او را خوب به خاطر دارم. از پشت عینک به ما خیره می‌شد و با صدایی لرزان می‌پرسید: «شما خیال ندارید داوطلب شوید، رفقا؟» این‌جور آدم‌ها همیشه از احساساتشان مایه می‌گذارند تا آدم را خر کنند. اما آن‌موقع متوجهِ این چیزها نبودیم. در میان ما یک نفر بود که تردید داشت و دلش نمی‌خواست به جبهه رود، یوزف بِم. پسرکی چاق و صاف و ساده. اما جرئت مخالفت نداشت زیرا بقیه او را طرد می‌کردند. شاید بیشترِ ما هم ته دلمان مثل او فکر می‌کردیم. اما هیچ‌کدام نتوانستیم عقیدهٔ واقعی خود را بروز دهیم زیرا در آن صورت حتی پدر و مادرهایمان هم ما را ترسو خطاب می‌کردند. هیچ‌کس درست نمی‌دانست برای چه به جنگ می‌رویم. آدم‌های فقیر از ما عاقل‌تر بودند. آن‌ها خوب می‌دانستند جنگ مایهٔ بدبختی است. در حالی‌که آدم‌های طبقهٔ متوسط، که باید بیشتر سرشان می‌شد، غرق در شور و هیجانِ جنگ شده بودند. ✏️ در جبهۀ غرب خبری نیست، اریش ماریا رمارک، فارسیِ رضا جولایی 🤩

مشکل فقط این نیست که عده‌ای پولدار و گردن‌کلفت شده‌اند؛ مشکل این است که کسانی‌که از یک نظم نابرابر بیشترین سود را برده‌اند حالا خودشان را مخالف همان نظم معرفی می‌کنند. نه! تو علیه این نظم نیستی! تو محصول همین نظمی! تو هم ستون این نظمی و هم ویترین آن! همان ساختاری که برای خیلی‌ها دیوار ساخت برای تو پله ساخت. حالا روی همان پله ایستاده‌ای و برای کسانی‌که پشت دیوار مانده‌اند درباره‌ی سختیِ بالا رفتن سخنرانی می‌کنی! ✏️ علی مسعودی [متن کامل یادداشت] 🤩
