Every July, we run a two-week Teacher Development course here in London, exploring ways in which a lexical approach to language might impact our everyday classroom practices. We also provide a great cultural and social programme too. However, rather than have me tell you how great the course is, for the next few weeks while I’m on holiday, I thought I’d let some of the wonderful teachers who were on the course this year tell you what they most enjoyed about it. Oh, and remember: it’s never too early to book your place for next summer: https://www.lexicallab.com/teacher-training-in-london/

Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a chat with a teacher friend about why she prefers her new job to her last one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJQrY91meQI
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a chat with a cricket-loving neighbour of mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6YRfZthIqs&t=2s
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a rather angry email I wrote to a well-known Western magazine that I felt was guilty of spreading russian propaganda. https://youtu.be/FrcE_GMZsUg?si=Nb8U4_HeipUMANZp
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a rather confusing email exchange with a friend that I soon realised was prompted by a misunderstanding about the possible meanings of a word I'd rather casually used. https://youtu.be/9LYlwzySEaM?si=YRPvIFXwz-2FO9me
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by England's glorious 6-4 victory against France last Saturday. https://youtu.be/QfeWV9jQg1Q?si=5Wi44M3tZFaXyjcx
To mark the end of the World Cup, a Czech friend of mine invited me onto his channel to share things we loved and hated about the tournament. I realise this may be a niche area, but if you have any football-mad friends or students who might enjoy this, please do share it with them: https://youtu.be/R_UbvD2sbYo
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a bit of an altercation I recently had with a rather drunk and unpleasant man on a train. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2iCUvzjvoQ&t=16s

I’m currently in France playing music and so I thought that today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video should reflect this. It explores the impact of French on the English language and looks at a common noun that adds a little pizazz to your repertoire. https://youtu.be/XuLeLsj6ZQc?is=bzi19Xegl3Qt_lB0
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a recent report about a rather shocking change that's being imposed on BBC Radio 4's flagship news programme. https://youtu.be/FBdQohp4ZMY?si=OZ9xfUcKkU0kasPg
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by yet another one of my kids' daft arguments! https://youtu.be/2WM5Ifu4hew?si=RJaWGrVqQFcEd2Nh
Today at 18.00 UK time, I'm doing another monthly Live with a Ukrainian teacher of English. As always, we’ll be talking about how the war has affected their work, about teaching through trauma, about their experiences of russia's brutal war on their country, and much more besides. This time around, I'm talking to Nadia Filatova (@nadia_sun_2020), who’s originally from Kharkiv, but is now based here in the UK, where she’s been working as a teaching assistant in a primary school for three years. Though currently living here, her heart is still very much with Ukraine. Nadia's close family remain there during the war, and her brother has been defending Ukraine on the frontline since 2014. Please join us. https://www.instagram.com/hugh_dellar/
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by a strange Facebook friend request that I received this week – one that took me right back to my school days! https://youtu.be/ull197aZSbY?si=Gl9FJQSpk2AoavH7
Today’s ONE-MINUTE ENGLISH video was inspired by family conversations about the big weekend clean that we always try to do in my house. https://youtu.be/yVnp2sJW_dc?si=c9XETyeArq4v02vf
