A Reminder That This World Is Temporary There were women before her who lived in castles, then they lived in graves wherein there were petrifying conditions, all types of changing conditions, heads detached from bodies, and eyes hanging on cheeks. So, let the Muslim woman fear Allaah and prepare for this day its proper preparation. End quote Extracted from the book: A Piece of Advice and Admonition for the Women By Shaykh ‘Abd al-Razzaq Ibn ‘Abd al-Muhsin al-‘Abbad Every palace and every home is eventually left behind. Every soul is traveling toward a meeting with its Creator, and every heartbeat brings that meeting closer. Every soul will one day enter the grave. True success is not measured by what we possess in this life, but by what we send ahead through Faith, sincere repentance, and righteous deeds when neither wealth nor children will benefit us. May this reminder encourage us to prepare for the meeting with Allaah while the door of repentance still remains open.

Defend Your Brother’s Honour – A Promise from Allaah It is upon the Muslim that whenever he hears someone backbiting someone else he should stop that person from backbiting others because listening to it is haraam. In fact, the one who defends the honour of his Muslim brother in his absence is promised a very pleasing reward. The Messenger of Allaah (Salla-Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever defends the honour of his brother in his absence, then it is a right on Allaah that He will free him from the fire." [(Narrated by Imaam Ahmad no. 26328) End quote] [Extracted from the book: Lessons and Benefits from The Marital Life of The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) by TROID Publications] Defending a brother’s honour is not only an act of kindness and loyalty, it is a means of protection from the Fire. Every Muslim has a responsibility to speak out against injustice, gossip, and slander. Practical Steps: 1. Avoid listening to backbiting. 2. Politely stop anyone who speaks ill of others. 3. Speak good or remain silent. 4. Defend your brother's honour when he is absent, just as you would want yours defended and 5. Mention your brother's good qualities and virtues instead of remaining silent when he is being backbitten.
The Reward for Defending the Honour of a Muslim Brother It is upon the Muslim that whenever he hears someone backbiting someone else he should stop that person from backbiting others because listening to it is haraam. In fact, the one who defends the honour of his Muslim brother in his absence is promised a very pleasing reward. The Messenger of Allaah (Salla-Allaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever defends the honour of his brother in his absence, then it is a right on Allaah that He will free him from the fire." * [Narrated by Imaam Ahmad no. 26328)] Extracted from the book: Lessons and Benefits from the Marital Life of the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) Thus the best way to show our concern for others, especially in their absence, is to uphold their honour, speak well of them, and stop any form of backbiting or slander from spreading. Therefore, let us be the ones who safeguard each other’s dignity, speak with kindness, and prevent harmful words from spreading. In doing so, we earn Allaah’s protection and Mercy.

Trials Are Not the End: Hope and Guidance in Turbulent Times - Mar 4, 2026
Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah) Sadness and depression will be relieved when the slaves realise that they have neither the power to avoid what has befallen them, nor to bring about what was not destined for them. [Prophetic Medicine, pg. 236, Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimahullah)]
Parental Favoritism – A Hidden Wound in the Home Many parents don’t realize that giving extra attention or gifts to one child simply because they are more talented, well-behaved, or charming can deeply harm the other children. Favoritism plants seeds of jealousy, insecurity, and lifelong emotional wounds. But Islam addressed this issue over 1,400 years ago. The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: "Fear Allah and be just among your children." (Sahih Al-Bukhari, no. 2587, Muslim no. 1623 - Part of a long hadeeth) In this hadeeth, the father was instructed to take back the gift to preserve affection among siblings, prevent resentment, and avoid causes of hatred or jealousy, envy, and division among the children. This is one of the strongest proofs that favoritism is forbidden in Islam. [Explanation from Dorar.net - paraphrased] Parents who favor one child unintentionally sow seeds of rivalry, hatred, and broken family bonds. Be conscious. Be balanced. Let your children feel equal in your love, time, and attention. Because the moments you think are small, like giving extra praise, gifts, or affection to one child can leave big wounds on the hearts of the others.
Choose Wisely! Not Everyone Deserves Your Companionship “A person must choose his companion and choose his associate. It is not for the believer to walk with whomever he wills, as Al-Hasan al-Basri, [Rahimahullaah], said: ‘It is not for the believer to walk with whomever he wills.’ He does not walk with everyone who comes and goes, he does not choose indiscriminately.” By Shaykh Abdurrazzaq Al-Badr, (may Allah preserve him). Translation: Authentic Quotes Not every smiling face is a friend, and not every gathering is a place for the believer. The heart is precious; too precious to expose it to every influence and every companionship. Because your company is not just a reflection of who you are rather it is an example of who you will become.
A Du'a For Protection in Every Stage of Life and Beyond Verily, I seek refuge with You from miserliness, and I seek refuge with You from cowardice, and I seek refuge in You from being returned to the worst stage of old age, and I seek refuge with You from the trials of this worldly life and from the punishment of the grave. Graded Saheeh by: Ahmad Shakir in Takhreej al-Musnad, 3/103 A comprehensive du'a in which a believer asks Allaah to protect him from: Miserliness and cowardice - as it causes the person to fall short in fulfilling obligations and acts of worship, upholding Allaah’s rights and supporting the oppressed. Being returned to the worst stage of old age - old age that leads to weakness, loss of mental clarity, forgetfulness, confusion, inability to perform acts of worship properly and decline in physical and intellectual ability. The trials of this worldly life and from the punishment of the grave - Trials (Fitnah) are tests that cause a person to trade the Hereafter for worldly gains, desires, or temptations and punishment after death. [Explanation from Dorar.net]
Respecting Wife is a Husband's Responsibility Some men mistreat their wives in front of their own families, It is as if he wants to say to them, “I am the man and my wife does not have an opinion nor a word.” Some men humiliate their wives in the presence of her family. It is as if he is saying to her, “What will your family do to me? I dare them!” This is what makes the relationship between the husband and wife worse and places in their hearts a dislike for the marital bond to continue. These matters may even cause a breakdown of the family structure, ultimately causing it to be split in the end. Therefore, husbands should fear Allah, recognize the true worth of their women, make an effort to treat them with respect and dignity, especially in front of the children. My Wife Doesn’t Want My Mother to Live with Us The great scholar, Shaikh Ṣāliḥ Al-Fawzān, may Allāh protect him was asked: ▪️Question: My mother lives on her own and feels very lonely and isolated, and I fear for her. She keeps pressing me to move her over to my house so that she can live with me, so that I can take care of her and she not feel lonely any more, being in my company. My wife, meanwhile, is determined in her refusal to have my mother with her in the house. So should I listen to my wife or my mother? ▫️Answer: The shaikh, may Allāh protect him, replied: If this wife doesn’t get along with your mother, have her live on her own and have your mother live with you, or look for another wife who will help you in being good and fulfilling your duties to your mother. As for you neglecting and losing your mother and going with your wife and listening to [her instead], this is something that’s not allowed. This is from [the major sin of] mistreating [one’s parents]. 📚Majmūʿah Rasāʾil Daʿawiyyah wa Manhajiyyah, first edition, p. 529. 📝Translated by: Mikail ibn Mahboob Ariff 📓 https://tasfiyah.com/al-fawzan-fatwa-my-wife-doesnt-want-my-mother-to-live-with-us/?fbclid=IwAR0KG2MnUgBSYXZJxRhjDbpFdA0hINwQI75KqsEzeiImkXzhm0dQzitBQ68
The Fleeting Nature of Beauty - Beauty Fades, Deeds Remain Let her remember that one day she will depart from this life. There will come a day when she, along with her beautiful body, her tempting good looks, her adorning of herself, and her tribulation of men will be placed in a hole, dirt will be heaved on her, and worms will eat her; her beauty and glamour will leave her, and she will be in that hole, dependent upon her actions and shackled to what she put forth in this life. (End quote) Extracted from the book: A Piece of Advice and Admonition for the Women by Shaykh ‘Abd al-Razzaq Ibn ‘Abd al-Muhsin al-‘Abbad (May Allaah preserve him) The true essence of a woman lies not in her appearance, but in the purity of her heart, the sincerity of her Faith, and the righteousness of her deeds. Time will erase what the mirror once praised, but the soul nurtured by worship, humility, and goodness will remain radiant before her Rabb. Indeed, the grave embraces nothing except the prayer she offered in secret, the charity she gave in silence, and the tears she shed in repentance.
🌘 Are there any acts of worship prescribed during the time of an eclipse other than prayer? 🟢 Yes, the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) commanded charity, he commanded freeing slaves, and now there is no option for freeing slaves. And also prescribed are the following acts of Dhikr (remembrance): 🕋 Tasbeeh - SubhanAllaah (glorification), 🕋 Tahleel - La ilaha illa Allaah (declaring the oneness of Allaah), 🕋 Tahmeed - Alhamdulillah (praising Allaah), 🕋 Takbeer - Allaahu Akbar (declaring Allaah's greatness) 📖 Reciting the Qur’an, and 🤲 Istighfar – Seeking forgiveness 🌑 These are acts of worship prescribed during the time of the Salat ul-Kusuf (eclipse prayer).
🌕🔴 When the Moon Turns Red When the moon turns red, it is a sign of reminder and a wake-up call. 📅 On Sunday evening: 🗓 15th of Rabi‘ al-Awwal 1447 🗓 7 September 2025 🌍 The world and Allaah knows best will witness a rare total lunar eclipse. 🌑 The earth’s shadow will fully cover the moon, turning it deep red in a majestic celestial scene. Astronomers call it: The Blood Moon. 🌌 And while this sight captivates the eyes with its awe and beauty, but in the Meezan (scale / balance) of Eeman (faith), it is not merely a universal phenomenon, rather, it is a sign from the signs of Allaah; a Divine message that: 📌Instills fear, 📌 Awakens heedless hearts, 📌Reminds the servants to return and repent. 💬 The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs of the signs of Allaah; they do not eclipse because of the death of someone but Allah frightens His servants with them.” [Al-Bukhari no. 1048] ⚠️ 'The Blood Moon' is not just a moment for curiosity and wonder, rather 🚨 It is a wake-up alarm in a world filled with: 🌟 Sins 🌟 Public display of sins 🌟 A decline of sincere advisors 🌟 And the weak voices of those enjoining good and forbidding evil The Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) warned: “If acts of disobedience are done among any people and do not change them though they are able to do so, Allaah will soon punish them all.” [Abu Dawoud no. 4338] 📖 Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimaullah) said: “When a sin is hidden, it harms only its doer. But if it is public, it harms everyone. And when people see wrongdoing and neglect to denounce it, Allaah may punish them all.” 🔎 What is required in such great signs is not just to lift our eyes to the sky in admiration, rather, the slave opens the vision of his heart, and reads the message as Allaah intended: 🟢With fear of His anger 🟢With dread of His punishment 🟢And hastening towards repentance and turning back to Him. 📖 Allaah the Exalted said in Surat Al-Anfal (8:25): ❝And fear a Fitnah (trial, affliction) which affects not in particular (only) those of you who do wrong (but it may afflict all the good and the bad people), and know that Allah is Severe in punishment.❞ Therefore, let us seize these moments to: 🔹 Renew our Covenant with Allaah through obedience and remembrance 🔹 Repent from sins and shortcomings 🔹 Enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong. 🔹 Correct our path before death or calamity reaches us 📖❝Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions in keeping our duties to You.❞ [Surat Aale-Imran (3:147)] 📖 ❝Our Lord, do not hold us accountable for what the foolish among us have done.❞ [Surat Al-A'raf (7:155)] by Dr. Haya bint Muhammad Al-Sabah 🎓 Professor of Hadith, College of Shari'ah – University of Kuwait
The Balance of Roles in a Woman’s Life Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimaullah) said: For a married woman, obeying her husband is better than obeying her father. [Majmoo’ al-Fataawa Ibn Taymiyyah (Rahimaullah), 10/428] 🔹 Before marriage, the father is a woman’s guardian and protector. 🔹 After marriage, the husband becomes her new guardian, and their relationship forms the foundation of a family. It’s not about competition between parents and spouses, but about honoring the roles Allaah has assigned in different phases of one's life.
Rizq (Provision) does not have to be Money
Gratitude to the Husband Is Gratitude to Allaah From the attributes of the righteous wife is not to be ungrateful to her benefactors. In other words, avoiding being ungrateful for the sustenance that Allaah has facilitated for her via the hands of her husband. It states in a hadeeth: "He who does not thank the people does not thank Allaah. [Collected by Ahmad (no.7939) and Abu Dawud (no.4811)] Extracted from the book, "Attributes of the Righteous Wife" by Shaykh Abdur Razzaq Ibn Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad (May Allaah preserve him)
Honoring Relatives Beyond Religion Asma' (Radia-Allaahu anha) narrates: "My mother came to me when she was a pagan. I consulted the Messenger of Allaah (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) asking, 'O Messenger of Allaah, my mother has come seeking reconciliation. Should I maintain ties with her?’ He responded, 'Yes, maintain ties with your mother.'" (Sahih al-Bukhari 2620 & Sahih Muslim 1003) Islam teaches us to maintain ties of kinship especially with parents, siblings, and relatives regardless of their religion. Asma (Radia-Allaahu anha)'s mother was a disbeliever who wished to join ties with her daughter. Asma sought a ruling with the Prophet (Salla-Allaahu alayhi wa sallam) on whether it was permissible to maintain ties with her non-Muslim mother. The Prophet approved and even encouraged it. This shows that maintaining ties of kinship is not restricted by religion. Islam emphasizes good character and encourages kindness, respect, and goodness toward relatives, regardless of their faith.
