The most successful couples, are those, who don’t live according to the expectations of others. They don’t look around & try to copy others, instead, they look towards one another and start this journey of marriage with trust in Allaah and each other.

Ibn Zubayr رضي الله عنه said: “Do not prevent yourselves from marrying a short woman due to her shortness [i.e. height]. Certainly, a tall woman can give birth to a short child and a short woman can give birth to a tall child!” Uyun al-Akhbar, 1/375

  • The Kashur khandars are in full bloom! Although I hardly attend weddings .. the last one I attended was five months ago and it was a wedding in the family! But marriages in Kashmir have increasingly become a show of wealth, status and sadly Instagram content! What I see sends shivers down my spine! The extravagance, waste and bidah creeping into our weddings have little to do with our Kashmiri culture! The amount of money being spent is simply staggering! If Allah gives me life and when my children reach marriageable age, I will stand firmly against this nonsense, come what may! Inviting thousands, serving multi course feasts, juices, dry fruits, sweets and God knows what else—and believe me, most won’t even remember it the next day! Instead! Some may instead say, Haraam ka paisa hoga or JK Bank ka bohat qarz hai! Meanwhile we have sisters and daughters who have crossed marriageable age simply because their families cannot afford these unnecessary expectations! Instead of spending a fortune to impress people for one day, spend a portion of it helping someone build a life! Help a daughter get married! The satisfaction it brings in this world is priceless and Insha’ Allah it can become a lasting source of ajr in the Hereafter! Allah never lets a good deed go unrewarded! Keep the marriages simple! Keep the original seven senn (dishes)! Please STOP this unnecessary parade of juices, dry fruits, sweets and other nonsensical additions! And! Please stop this buffet system—it is not our culture! In the name of keeping up with the times we are slowly cutting ourselves off from our own culture and traditions! Don’t make others lives miserable just to keep up with this endless race of show off and dekha-dekhi! And! For heaven’s sake stop putting every family moment on Instagram! You never know what unwanted attention, envy or nazar it may invite—and you never know who is watching our daughters and sisters or with what intentions! Marriage is a Sunnah of the Rasoolullah SAWW! Don’t turn a Sunnah into a competition and don’t turn a simple Nikah into a bid‘ah filled extravaganza! Make marriages simple, dignified and affordable—so that our young men and women are encouraged to marry rather than pushed towards haram by the burden of expectations we ourselves have created! Let’s make Nikah easy so that haram never becomes the easier choice!

Ibrahim waited decades for a child. Musa waited years in exile. Yusuf waited in prison. Yaqub waited with blind eyes. Ayyub waited through pain. Nuh waited a lifetime. Their waiting wasn't wasted. Waiting is one of the quietest forms of ibadah-because even in silence, you're saying: "I trust Allah." And when the wait ended, Allah rewarded them beyond imagination.

The biggest mistake a wife can make is running to tell her family and friends every time she has a problem with her husband. You think you're just venting, but what you're actually doing is opening the door for everyone to walk into your marriage. One day, you'll make up with your husband. You'll forgive. You'll move on. But the people you told, they won't forget. They'll remind you. They'll shame you. They'll say, isn't that the same husband who did this and that? What started as just sharing turns into ammunition. They'll throw back at you later. Your marriage is your home. And just like you wrap and protect your food, the way you bake a cake or heat up the food and carefully cook them in silence. Do the same with your problems. Wrap them, protect them. Don't let anyone taste what wasn't theirs to begin with. Keep your issues private because not everyone wants to see your marriage survive. Not every ear deserves your story. Not every heart knows how to hold your pain. Guard your home.

Can a husband drink his wife's breast milk in Islam? Malik also reported in al-Muwatta that ‘Abd-Allah ibn Dinar said: “A man came to ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Umar when I was with him in the court-house, asking him about breastfeeding one who is grown up. ‘Abd-Allah ibn ‘Umar said: ‘A man came to ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab and said, “I have a slave-girl with whom I used to have sexual relations, and my wife went to her and gave her her milk, then when I went to her, she said, ‘Stop, by Allah I have given her my milk.’” ‘Umar said, “Punish her (your wife), and (continue to) go to your slave-girl, for (the ruling on) breastfeeding only applies to breastfeeding of infants.”’” Its isnad is sahih. From this it is clear that drinking one’s wife’s milk has no effect and does not create the relationship of mahram. Ibn Qudamah said in al-Mughni (9/201): “One of the conditions of breastfeeding creating the relationship of mahram is that it should be within the first two years. This is the opinion of most of the scholars. Something like this was narrated from ‘Umar, ‘Ali, Ibn ‘Umar, Ibn Mas’ud, Ibn ‘Abbas, Abu Hurayrah and the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), apart from ‘Aishah. It was also the opinion of al-Shi’bi, Ibn Shubrumah, al-Awza’i, al-Shaafi’i, Ishaq, Abu Yusuf, Muhammad, and Abu Thawr, and was narrated in one report from Malik. Based on the above, drinking one’s wife’s milk has no effect, but it is better to avoid it. Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-‘Uthaymin was asked about this matter, and he replied: “Breastfeeding a grown-up has no effect, because the breastfeeding which has an effect (of creating the relationship of mahram) is that which consists of five feedings or more within the first two years, before weaning. On this basis, if someone breastfed from his wife or drank her milk, he does not become her son.” (Fatawa Islamiyyah, 3/338) And Allah knows best.

In many Muslim weddings today, it is only the groom who dresses modestly, while the bride, who is meant to cover her body, will leave it on display. Some Muslim bride even remove the hijab they've been adorning for years because it's their happy day. Some wear tight and body-hugging dresses. Dear Muslimah, you have every right to be happy on the day of your Nikkah; it's obligatory on you to place Allâh's pleasure above what makes you happy and your cultural way of doing a wedding. Any cultural practice that'll make you exceed Allâh's limit must be dropped. In the hereafter, Allâh will only judge us by His laws (Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad), not by cultural or Western laws. Fear Allâh, to Whom you shall return; the punishment of Allâh is severe and unbearable.

🥷🏻 A woman does not want much from her husband… just three things—if the husband can provide these, the wife will fall in love with him, become gentle, and be loyal. 1. Attention: Seeing with the heart, listening with the heart. The most important thing a woman seeks is,Am I important to him? 📗@The Prophet (ﷺ)said,The best among you is the one who is best to his wife.Listening to his wife, paying a little attention, giving her importance—these hold more value in her eyes than gold. 2. Protection: The warm shade of security A woman’s heart is like a flower…it blooms in the sunlight of love and survives in the shade of security.Allah has said,Men are protectors and maintainers of women. This guardianship is not about harshness—rather,it is that affection where the wife can confidently say,No matter what,I have my husband. 3. Satisfaction: Providing refuge in peace Allah has said,You are garments for one another.Just as clothing conceals the body, protects it, and enhances beauty—so too is the relationship between husband and wife.Providing each other with mental and marital peace is what brings them closest together. In summary, when a husband gives his wife Attention, Protection, and Satisfaction—she will naturally love him, respect him,and be ready to do anything for him.
